Believe it or not, it's officially British Summertime. And whilst we can't guarantee any of that glorious Scottish "sunshine", we can guarantee a tasty new beer to celebrate the fact that we lost an hour and hopefully gained some warmer weather.
Mango Berlinner is our perfect Summer beer; refreshing, light, and fruity, it's got everything we'd want when sitting outside in the sun. It's our first time trying out the Berlinner Weisse style, so we thought we'd go all in with a Citra dry hopped sour beer packed to the brim with as much mango as possible.
On the nose, you'll get a hit of ripe mango and tropical fruit. There's a lot of big upfront mango in the initial taste, but still incredibly light on the palate before getting that clean, zesty mouthfeel with a nice gentle acidity in the finish. It's not sour like sucking on a lemon or drinking a big mouthful of vinegar, but instead has a really nice balance between tartness, fruitiness, and acidity.
So whether British Summertime results in taps aff or taps oan, you can rely on this beer to bring a bit of sunshine in a glass.
The label was designed by art student, Dannielle McFarlane, from Glasgow. The contrast between the dark background and the bright flowers was the perfect vibe for our first beer coming out of the Winter months.
Malt: Maris Otter, Wheat
Plus as much fresh mango as we could fit!
