How to make sure you're prepared for your Springfest experience!
Payment During the Festival
Please be aware that we will be operating a cash bar during the festival, so ensure you bring enough money to last! There is no cash machine near the brewery, so please plan ahead.
We are able to take card payments on merchandise and beer bought in the brewery shop.
Travelling by Rail
The Borders Railways is an excellent, convenient, and cost-effective method of getting to our brewery from within the East Lothian and Scottish Borders areas.
Trains run every half hour starting at Edinburgh Waverley up until 8pm.
The train heading back after the festival closes is at 22:31pm, however the last train is at 23:31pm for anyone who misses the previous train.
Off peak tickets available for purchase on the train, please check www.scotrail.co.uk for special offers / discounts, especially if you intend to travel as a group.
Travelling by Car
There will be limited space available for parking although this will be a short distance from the brewery. We would advise people to use public transport links, especially the bus and train. If you do wish to travel by car, please try to coordinate this with friends and family who may also be going to. A drop off area will be made available for those with mobility issues but please be aware that parking will not be available at the festival site. Don’t drink and drive!
Attending with Children
Lots of our team are parents themselves, so of course we're happy for little ones to come along.
Children are allowed onsite free of charge, but must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian; Tempest are not responsible for the welfare and safety of children onsite, so make sure they’re being watched out for! They do not need a ticket in advance, but do need to be registered at the entry desk before entering the festival and must be signed out when they leave the site.
There is no set time for them to leave, so especially later on at night we expect them to be well supervised. If the security or festival staff have any concerns about the supervision of children, you will be cautioned to by a member of security, and in extreme circumstances you may be asked to leave.
Attending with Pets
Please feel free to bring your furry friend with you to the event, however we ask that they be kept on a leash at all times, and they are not allowed inside the brewery with the exception of service dogs. Well-behaved dogs will be allowed inside the marquee. Unfortunately, pets causing a nuisance will be asked to leave.
We will have access to water should you want to give them a drink, but please bring a bowl for them!
Please also ensure that you’re looking out for any mess your dog might cause!
There will be a limited number of brewery tours during the festival, we cannot guarantee that all attendees will have the opportunity to be part of a tour group. We will be releasing tour times throughout the day, so everyone has a fair chance of being on a tour if they want to take part; these will be announced and can be signed up for at the ticket desk on the day. No advance bookings.
During the tour, we ask all attendees not to wander into the rest of the brewery away from their group, and do not touch the equipment or anything inside the brewery unless given express permission by the tour guide.
Purchasing Alcohol to Take Home
Any alcohol bought from our brewery shop to take away will be kept in a holding area for collection at the end of the festival. These will have tickets with the name of the purchaser and purchase receipt, and be stapled shut.
You can collect your purchase when you intend to leave, which will be held at the Collections Desk (previously Entry Desk).
No alcohol bought will be allowed to be drank on site, any one who is seen to be doing so will be asked to leave.
You must be aged 18 or over to purchase tickets. We will be operating a Challenge 25 policy on the door; if you look under 25 you must be able to prove that you are aged 18 or over. We will not refund ticket sales in the event of failure to produce valid ID.
Children and Young Persons must be supervised by a responsible adult or parent at all times.
Tempest Brewing Co encourage the responsible consumption of alcohol. Free drinking water will be available. Please remember to keep yourself hydrated, look after yourself and look out for others at all times. Please contact a member of staff or on site security if you feel unwell, or are concerned for the wellbeing of anyone else.
Staff / Security Instructions
Tempest Brewing Co staff, Security Staff and all other traders are all here to help. Please listen to, and follow any instructions from staff. Requests will only be made to ensure the success of the event, and to ensure the enjoyment and safety of all those attending.
