Virgin Oak Barrel Mexicake

ABV:
11.3
Hops:
Columbus
Taste:
Intense Smoke, Upfront Oak, Warm Spice

The next barrel to lend its flavour to Mexicake, Virgin Oak.

We reckoned that releasing this alongside Bourbon Barrel would provide an interesting exercise in showing how different barrels affect the same beer. More so than last year's Brandy edition, as of course Bourbon casks start their life as Virgin Oak.
With Virgin Oak, you can expect intense smoke and warm spice on the nose, and that smoke lingering into the taste alongside upfront oak with cinnamon and slight heat in the finish. Pair that with a smoothness and richness typical of barrel aged stouts, and you've got a deliciously decadent beer that demands your full attention when tasting.
