RateBeer Results and 2018 Reflections

Tempest Brewing Co has been featured in RateBeer’s Top 100 Breweries in the World for 2018!

Announced every January, many of the world’s best breweries turn their eyes to RateBeer to find out if they’ve been featured, and places on the list are highly sought after. There are over 2000 breweries in the UK alone, and only 9 of those made the Top 100 with only two Scottish establishments joining the ranks of the some of the world’s most famous craft breweries. Tempest’s inclusion on the list again this year reflects our high attention to detail, and dedication to taste for our wide customer base.

Last year also saw the return of All the Leaves are Brown, this time as a Barrel aged edition re-taking its spot as one of RateBeer’s best new beers out of a field of more than 108,000 beers. Red Eye Flight also came in Rate Beers top 15 Porters. Furthermore, In The Dark We Live sits in the Top 50 Black IPAs and A Face With No Name is no. 19 in the Amber Ale category!

The Tempest Brewing Team have worked hard for nine years to make the very highest quality of beer. Every award and recognition of the team’s hard work is always fantastic and well appreciated. The RateBeer top 100 global brewery rating is another accolade which will continue to inspire the team to work extremely hard to replicate the same standard year after year.

In recognition of this we thought it would be a good time to take a look back over the beers we’ve produced over the last year..

To kick off 2018, we relaunched our core range with brand new labels and updated our merchandise. 2019 will see an expansion on this, and we can’t wait to show you some of the designs we are releasing this year.

April saw us collaborate with three amazing breweries: Dugges, Wiper and True and Gipsy Hill for the We Are Beer festivals. The resulting Space Time Stout varieties were incredible, as were the festivals!

As well as this, we worked with three additional fantastic breweries on collaborations at home: Buxton, Duration, and 2 Crows. We really enjoyed working with these guys and we were super proud of the beers produced as a result.

  • Powder Day
  • Are Friends Electric?
  • Vermont Sessions
  • Trimontium (V1)
  • Eildon Days (w. Buxton)
  • Green River (w. Duration)
  • The Wolf of Selkirk
  • Little White Gooseberry
  • Barrel-Aged All The Leaves Are Brown
  • India Pils
  • Dawsons Kviek (w. 2 Crows)
  • A Face With No Name (2018 ed.)
  • Rum-Barrel Mexicake
  • Trimontium (V2)
  • Effervescence BRUT
  • Old Fashioned (2018)

All that on top of our core and amplified ranges as well as our small batch and five new cask ale specials… we’ve never been busier!

2018 also saw us finally get our beer into cans, with seasonal and short runs of core beers we’re looking forward with many more exciting releases coming in the coming year!
