Additional Information

How to make sure you're prepared for your Springfest experience!

Payment During the Festival

Tempest’s bars will be operating a token only basis. £13 worth of tokens are included with your ticket bundle, and they will also be available to buy from the designated token station on the day. We will be able to accept cash and card payments for tokens. Additional drinks vendors – Cider and Gin – will accept tokens only.

However, Food Vendors will be CASH or CARD ONLY.

Please ensure you have enough cash with you if you wish to purchase anything from these vendors. Unfortunately, there are no ATM’s nearby the site - the nearest would be near Galashiels station.

We can take card payments on merchandise and beer bought in the brewery shop.

Travelling by Car

There will be limited space available for parking although this will be a short distance from the brewery. We would advise people to use public transport links, especially the bus and train. Our brewery is a 5 minute walk from the Tweedbank train station, which travels to and from Edinburgh Waverley every 30 minutes up until 7pm after which the trains run hourly.

If you do wish to travel by car, please try to coordinate this with friends and family who may also be going. A drop off area will be made available for those with mobility issues but please be aware that parking will not be available at the festival site.

Don’t drink and drive!

Attending with Children

Lots of our team are parents themselves, so of course we're happy for little ones to come along.

Children are allowed onsite free of charge but must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian; Tempest are not responsible for the welfare and safety of children onsite, so make sure they’re being watched out for! They do not need a ticket in advance, but do need to be registered at the entry desk before entering the festival and must be signed out when they leave the site. Children should be off-site no later than 7pm. Parents are welcome to arrange childcare and return to the festival; please ensure you pick up an off-site pass from the front desk and keep your wristband on. If the security or festival staff have any concerns about the supervision of children, you will be cautioned to by a member of security, and in extreme circumstances you may be asked to leave.

Attending with Pets

Please feel free to bring your furry friend with you to the event, however we ask that they be kept on a leash at all times, and they are not allowed inside the brewery with the exception of service dogs. Well-behaved dogs will be allowed inside the marquee. Unfortunately, pets causing a nuisance will be asked to leave.

We will have access to water should you want to give them a drink, but please bring a bowl for them!

Please also ensure that you’re looking out for any mess your dog might cause!

Brewery Tours

At Springfest we will not be running brewery tours. We will however be running brewery tours every Saturday in the run up to and after the festival. Tours are available to book by emailing tours@tempestbrewco.com

Purchasing Alcohol to Take Home

You can purchase alcohol to take home at the festival up until 10pm. You can either carry this with you, or we can hold it for you until you leave.

Please keep in mind that Scotrail have a No Alcohol policy after 9pm on their services, and act accordingly.

Challenge 25

You must be aged 18 or over to purchase tickets. We will be operating a Challenge 25 policy on the door; if you look under 25 you must be able to prove that you are aged 18 or over before entering the festival. We will not refund ticket sales in the event of failure to produce valid ID.

Children and Young Persons must be supervised by a responsible adult or parent at all times.

Water Stations

New to the festival; there will be a large sink for rinsing your glasses, getting water etc. This will be located in front of the red roller door outside the brewery – please check the Festival Map for the exact location.

Responsible Drinking

Tempest Brewing Co. encourage the responsible consumption of alcohol. Free drinking water will be available- you can look out for our designated water stations as outlined on your festival guide. Please remember to keep yourself hydrated, always look after yourself and look out for others. Please contact a member of staff or on-site security if you feel unwell or are concerned for the wellbeing of anyone else.

Please note, that bringing in outside food and alcohol is prohibited and may be confiscated by staff. (Exceptions made in the case of children/infants.)

Staff / Security Instructions

Tempest Brewing Co staff, Security Staff and all other traders are all here to help. Please listen to and follow any instructions from staff. Requests will only be made to ensure the success of the event, and to ensure the enjoyment and safety of all those attending.

Above all we want you to have a great Springfest!
