  • Cask is an easy dispense solution perfect for weddings and parties, with no fobbing issues.

With no fancy dispensing system required, this is a quick and easy solution to get fresh draught beer pouring at your event, without faff.

  • By contrast, keg beer is carbonated and requires a pressure-dispense system to pour, normally with CO2 gas – as you see in most bars. You should only choose to purchase Keg beer from us if you have a proper dispensing system.

  • Pick up may be made from the brewery during working hours

Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 3 pm

Fridays from 9 am to 1 pm

    Saturdays, by prior arrangement only.

    No collection on Sundays.

  • Please note that Express Delivery is NOT an option for Cask or Keg Hire.

    Please select Pickup.

We can sometimes deliver - it depends on your required delivery address and when you need it - but this must be arranged directly with the brewery, and is dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

Please email the office sales@tempestbrewco.com with your info, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. Delivery costs normally range from £10 to £20.

  • Please note a £75 security deposit per keg or cask will be added at the checkout, to ensure its safe return with the associated equipment.

When you return the keg or cask and any cask pack equipment to our brewery in sound condition, we'll refund your deposit.

  • We provide you with a Spile, a plastic cask tap for dispensing the beer, and a cask cradle stand.

  • Cask Cooling Ice Blankets* are available for purchase as a 5 Pack for £25 inc. VAT.

Once the blankets have been soaked and frozen, they can last up to 3 hours.

For events longer than this, we suggest alternating between two blankets, swapping a thawed one with another that is already in the freezer.

    * Please note that the ice blankets are not supplied pre-frozen; it is your responsibility to freeze these before use.

  • Unfortunately, we do NOT offer Sale or Return.

  • Once you tap the cask, we recommend consuming within 2-3 days maximum.

HOW TO CASK

  • 1) Put the cask into a position where you will be pouring the beer with the shive facing up and the keystone (where the Tap goes) at the bottom facing you.
  • 2) Using the plastic Spile provided, tap this through the very centre of the Shive on the side of the cask. This will vent the cask.
  • 3) Set tap in the closed position (with spout removed). Make sure that the Spile is only loosely in at this point so pressure can escape if necessary.
  • 4) You will tap in though the keystone (rubber bung) hole cone end heading into the cask. MAKE SURE YOUR FACE IS NOT DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE TAP.
  • 5) Using a rubber or wooden mallet - knock the tap gently through the keystone so it breaks through the seal.
  • 6) Knock tap just far enough so it holds firmly in place. Screw the Spout back on.
  • 7) Our casks do not require a long settling period as they are Unfined and Vegan Friendly.
  • 8) Check that the beer is flowing freely through the tap. You may need to take the Spile out or put it further in if there are flow issues.
  • 9) Tap closed when the handle is 90 degrees to its length.
  • 10) Rotate tap handle to dispense.
