Mexicake

 We love Mexico! Not least because of the culinary gifts it has given to the world. Both chocolate and vanilla beans are indigenous to Mexico and nowhere on the planet celebrates the nuances of the chile (not chilli or chili) more than in its homeland.

Our love for Mexican culture and food is the reason we made this rich, boozy imperial stout infused with vanilla beans, cocoa, cinnamon, chipotle and mulato chiles.

Product Recall Notice – Mexicake Imperial Stout (440ml cans, packaged 27.06.25, batch no. 1492) This recall is due to an issue identified with the cacao nibs added post-fermentation to enhance the chocolate character of the beer. While these nibs were roasted to both develop flavour and ensure microbiological safety, unfortunately, a low-level infection has been detected in this batch. The resulting flavour difference is subtle, but it falls outside our acceptable tolerance levels. At Tempest Brewery, we are committed to only releasing beer of the highest quality, and in this case, the batch does not meet our standards. If you have purchased any of these cans of Mexicake, either from us or another retailer, please return any unopened cans from this batch to the place of purchase for a full refund. We sincerely apologise for this issue and for any inconvenience caused. We are already taking steps to ensure future batches of Mexicake Imperial Stout maintain the exceptional quality you expect from us, and we’re committed to making the next release our best yet.
